We act as the voice of our members regarding the latest developments in the field and provide education and training. SMMGP has over 6000 members who are at the heart of what we do. They include keyworkers, therapists, doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, non-medical prescribers, peer mentors, expert patients. SMMGP oversees the important work of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Practitioners (FDAP), helping to improve standards of practice across the sector by: setting professional standards through a Code of Practice and Complaints and Disciplinary procedure; developing the workforce through events and competency-based training, qualifications and guidance; and keeping practitioners and managers up-to-date.
